Elke Sörensen

1944 in Ettenheim geboren,
lebt und arbeitet in Baden-Baden.

Nach einer Ausbildung im Aquarellmalen erfolgten erste Versuche mit Öl, was zur Entwicklung der schöpferisch-meditativen Malerei führte.
In der Hingabe an das Spiel mit Farben und Formen entwickeln sich in oftmals längeren Zeitspannen ganz individuelle Kompositionen, denen kein Thema vorgegeben wird, sondern das Thema bzw. die Aussage erscheint in den Bildern. Es sind Seelenbilder, die so ihren Weg in die Form finden.

Elke Sörensen arbeitet mit einer Mischtechnik, in der Form, dass Farben unter einer Folie mit Terpentin zerrieben, miteinander vermischt und dann auf einer Leinwand verteilt werden.

Einige Bilder entstehen jedoch auch in klassischen Maltechniken.

Following a training in aquarelle techniques, first attempts were made with oils – leading to a creative-medidative style.
Devoted to the interplay of colours and forms, this approach often creates, over a period of time, very individual compositiones which did not have an initial theme. As a result, subject and message emerge only later on.
Thus, these pictures are reflections of the soul, having found their way into a certain expression and form.

Elke Sörensen is practising a special technique where the various colours are crushed and mixed with a solvent underneath a plastic foil, before applying it to the canvas.

Some paintings, however, are also conducted by means of classical technique.
